Mya's appointment
Mya just had her 6 month appointment with Dr. Wong yesterday. She was a real brave girl. After getting shot with 4 seperate doses of vaccinations, she immediately cried out loud. But, she calmed down right away! She was even happy to see Dr. Wong as she poked and prodded her. Joanne and I were hoping that she would just forget about a 6 month follow up on her ears. We're positive that she can hear clearly, almost too clearly. She turns her head instantly when you call her name, even if it is uttered during yours and someone else's conversation. Unfortunately, Dr. Wong remembered and told us she would check to see if she needed a follow-up. When we got home, her nurse just gave us the phone number of the place to set up an appointment, without mentioning whether or not we needed to. Oh, well.
Mya is definitely a Mendoza. She's got a huge head! Her head circumference is at 100% percentile, if that's even possible. Dr. Wong wants us to come in a little after 8 months (rather than the customary 9 months) to make sure she doesn't have hydrocephalus, a swelling in the brain. She isn't worried (and neither are we) because her cognitive and neurological functioning is fine and on level.
